The long lists of Miles Franklin & Stella Prizes are dominated by books published by independent publishers, & by this I mean small presses such as Transit Lounge, Giramondo, Magabala & Upswell as well as slightly larger privately owned pubs such as Text, Allen & Unwin, Scribe.".
