I wanted to share this recent Skilling snack since I regularly talk to customers that aren't aware of all the options for tracking which devices have, or need, Windows updates. This should help!.

These will give you better understanding of devices that don't appear to be updating when Microsoft isn't receiving data needed for detailed device status and errors. This can help you to find settings, firewall, or other conflicts and getting much more useful reports!.

You could easily miss this enhancement to Intune Discovered Apps. Windows 32 Apps now have Publisher data!. Might take a couple weeks to fully populate, but should be there for most used apps. . #Intune #WindowsApps.

You can then edit the same policy, configure a gradual rollout and make it a required update for the remaining devices. This gives you another great tool to design a super end user friendly and successful feature update rollout for your organization!.

I was out, so a little late to share, but it's so cool I'm doing anyway. This setting makes a feature update an optional update. Users go to Windows Update settings to opt-in. providing you with early testers before rolling it out broadly.

Here's another small improvement that you'll see in the 2403 release of Intune (which as I write this is still rolling out). For the first time, you can now deploy non-Security updates, including any OOBs, to devices.

The Intune docs are now updated to include this new feature:. It covers the most asked question: why can't I enable this for existing policies? In short, changing the setting requires a restart of the deployment, which can be a disruptive surprise.

Most of my posts are about new features. We are also maintaining existing features. Reports for Update Rings had become less reliable, so we updated to a newer base, and now are using configuration policy reports for more consistency. More Info: #Intune.
