President Joe Biden visited campus today to speak to an invited audience, including students, in Plant Hall. Students lined University Drive to watch the motorcade arrive and many watched the C-SPAN live stream of the program on the large screen at the Riseman Aquatic Center.
The

field is getting an advanced turf system. It’s designed to replicate the speed, line and bounce of a natural grass field. Poor drainage on the old field, and wear and tear, meant the grass needed replacing. The project is expected to be complete by early Oct.
We are fortunate to report that it appears there is minimal damage to campus as a result of Hurricane Ian. We welcome the UT community to return to campus on Friday or later. Details:
Construction will begin this spring on phase II of the Fitness and Recreation Center, which will add additional workout space, a new aquatic center, beach volleyball and basketball courts, as well as academic classrooms, offices and laboratory spaces.
UT has been notified that five UT students, traveling together and with other UT students during Spring Break, have tested positive for COVID-19. We sincerely wish our students, and any others who may be affected, a full and rapid recovery.
