The defcon badge this year will have an SAO header. Making an SAO is an easy intro for PCB design.

Would there be interest in doing a 'How to make an SAO (PCB Design) workshop this weekend'? I'm thinking I'll spin up a discord server and work with people to make their own SAO for a few hours.

The buttons are a custom resin 3d print. This pile is half of what was needed for the badges we made.

We were really proud to make the badges for @BsidesIA 2022! Here are some of the details on the badge! The Badge uses an ESP32-S2 microcontroller running @micropython, it has a rechargeable 14500 battery.

You can load full programs using adafruit-ampy https://t.co/lJSfJSdZZ1 The ESP32-S2 can be placed in bootloader mode by pressing the 'talk' button while power cycling the badge. This will allow it to function as a dev board.

Connect to the badge using a USB-C cable using a serial terminal program like puTTY to get access to the Python REPL prompt. Once connected you can use the 'stranger' module by typing 'stranger.' and hitting tab twice to see an auto-completed list of all the available functions

The badge uses an ESP32-S2 running microptyhon firmware. The idea is to allow for easier hacking. The badge is a full blown devboard! The micropython documentation is excellent - https://t.co/Rw0F2HJngf
