To name a few: Cars not creating a safe distance when overtaking, cars not giving way when they should, this in combination with roads and bike paths that are often in bad condition and confusing signage. Although road cycling is very popular. Belgium is not a cycling paradise.

For the 2nd time in 4 days, bike riders linked to the #UCIWorldChampionships have been involved in serious accidents. The discussion seems to be about riders not obeying traffic rules but honestly almost daily I’m confronted with cars creating dangerous situations for cyclists.

My wife, my son and myself just tested positive for COVID-19 after an outbreak at the daycare, being careful is not always enough, there is a certain level of luck involved as well. So far only mild symptoms, hoping to be back on the bike soon. After the isolation period 😓
