Wouldn't a finality layer require a PoS "validators"? .Why do you need PoW blockchain and then a PoS validators to secure the reorganization of blocks?.

My take: Changing Monero mining algorithm aka RandomX is a mistake. A mix of enforcing p2pool mining or more economic incentives for solo mining should be the way to improve mining decentralization and protection for future 51% attacks.

It's not yet but it's very close and maybe just a matter of time. I've warned for months many Monero bros about QuBic mining and all issues that could bring. No one believed me or gave enough importance, only @LoucoSurf.
I think most of Monero community don't know this. 100k high end CPU's mining $XMR just to sell for it for USDT is one more wave of selling pressure. In other hand hashrate will increase thus the security of the network.
