We could retain W. Bengal, E. Punjab n Assam mainly becoz of pressure of by Vir Savarkar, Dr BS Munje , Dr SP Mukherjee n local leaders like Master Tara Singh and Gopinath Bordoloi. But Cong was bent upon selling Hindu interest. We gave Karachi which had 51% Hindu pop.
Through his Bengali Hindu Homeland Movement, Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee played a key role in protecting West Bengal from going to Pakistan.
Ironically, when the Union Govt has decided to rename Kolkata Port after him, some people are questioning his contribution to the state.

In 1945 Hindu Mahasabha was not invited by Viceroy Wavell for crucial Shimla meet & when NB Khare asked Wavell the reason he said Hindu Mahasabha is a greater enemy of the British than the Congress.This shows the ‘ British stooge’ campaign against Savarkar is a total conspiracy.

This is such a stupid argument!. The picture is of Stafford Cripps welcoming the Hindu Mahasabha delegation for talks in 1942 (before Quit India!). Mahasabha was only party that opposed Cripps mission. Nehru & Azad had firmed association & Nehru was to be a defence minister 🤦
