"Since the very beginning of my surgery residency, I have developed an unwavering passion to pursue a career in breast surgical oncology. There is truly nothing more emotionally rewarding than being able to treat and cure patients with breast cancer," he says.

Dr. Vavolizza is a chief general surgery resident at UVA. He recently matched at MD Anderson for a breast surgical oncology fellowship, which he will start in August 2025. 2/3
