Nothing quite like measuring snow in a snowstorm 😆 but we got the job done! ❄️.
❄️ Last weekend, the @UTM GGR317 class braved the snow to collect data for their spatial variability lab and collected a great dataset! ❄️ Thanks to @CampKawartha for hosting us!

Sloppy slush this year out on our research lakes means walking to the main site rather than driving, but the group managed to get some measurements anyway! A shout out to the trusty snow tube borrowed from @RobinFThorne several years ago :D @UTM_GGE ❄️❄️

Big congrats to MSc student Lisa Marno @UTM_GGE @geo_uoft for a great job with her presentation at #CRRC2025 showing changing snow conditions in the Canadian High Arctic.
The last oral session of Day 2 at #CRRC2025 with an exciting session on remote sensing! 🛰️❄️ From tracking snow phenology shifts to 3D modeling of Great Bear Lake and land cover change in Old Crow Flats—powerful tools for understanding our changing landscapes! 🌍🔬
