As we gear up for the 126th Army Navy Game tomorrow, we’re also celebrating another milestone: 250 years since Congress approved building the first 13 frigates of the Continental Navy — on December 13, 1775.

Think you know the difference between two famous figureheads of Ben Franklin? For years, the U.S.N.A. Museum didn't. A mix-up meant they accidentally kept the more valuable one, carved by renowned artist William Rush. It’s a fascinating tale of historic art and happy accidents.

We miss seeing Midshipmen around the Yard, but can’t wait to see all of their summer training experiences out in the fleet.
Summer training begins! 🪖⛴🛩 Summer training consists of various experiences in the fleet such as surface cruises, Leatherneck, PROTRAMID, aviation cruises, and many more. The purpose of summer training is to expose midshipmen to different Naval and Marine Corps communities.

Taps only has twenty-four notes. But, in those twenty-four notes, there is sorrow, gratitude, finality; tranquility. Everything a grateful nation wants to express to those who have served and sacrificed. Fair winds and following seas, shipmates. #MemorialDay
