Ambassador.
The UN Security Council is deeply concerned over an imminent offensive by the RSF and their allied militias against the city of El Fasher, which is sheltering hundreds of thousands of people who have fled violence elsewhere.
The Council calls on the SAF and RSF to end the…
The U.S. is proud to be the largest provider of official development assistance. We are also actively engaging with the MDBs to increase support for low-income countries.

“Screams Before Silence” is a painful, sobering film, but we must not look away in the face of the horrors carried out by Hamas on October 7th.
We must stand with all victims of conflict-related sexual violence.
The U.S. will continue to pursue all possible avenues to get humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in dire need.
I'm grateful to have Lise Grande, a dedicated and experienced humanitarian, stepping up to lead our response effort.
I'm also grateful to David Satterfield for…
An honor to visit Restaurant Neungra in Seoul for a conversation with Dr. Lee Ae-ran and Ms. Ahn Hye-kyung on the grave human rights situation in the DPRK – and the power of food diplomacy in bridging cultures. ⬇️
A beautiful young girl, now free, after unthinkable horrors. We will not rest until every single hostage is released.
The international community must continue to pressure Hamas to take the deal on the table. Immediately.
Last year, we secured the release of Abigail, a 4-year-old who was being held by Hamas.
She’s remarkable and recovering from unspeakable trauma.
Our time together yesterday was a reminder of the work we have in front of us to secure the release of all remaining hostages.
I just returned from a sobering visit to Nagasaki. It was a reminder of our profound responsibility to ensure that no place experiences the horrors of nuclear weapons ever again.
Unfortunately, Russia and China, once again, undermined the non-proliferation regime.
The U.S. and Japan worked hand-in-hand on a UN Security Council resolution aimed at strengthening and upholding the global non-proliferation regime, including in outer space.
Unfortunately, Russia vetoed this straightforward resolution, which was co-sponsored by 65 Member States…
Today, Russia vetoed – and China abstained on – a UN Security Council resolution that affirmed a common sense proposition: That we should not be putting weapons of mass destruction into outer space. This would be unprecedented, unacceptable, and deeply dangerous.
Let me be…

And it includes roughly $10 billion in humanitarian aid to address crises around the world, including in Gaza, Sudan, and Haiti. This will save…
Tonight, a bipartisan majority in the Senate joined the House to answer history’s call at this critical inflection point. Congress has passed my legislation to strengthen our national security and send a message to the world about the power of American leadership: we stand…

As this year’s UN report lays bare, we are experiencing a global crisis of conflict-related sexual violence.
UN Member States must work together to hold perpetrators accountable and center survivors’ healing.
Chag Sameach to all those celebrating around the world.
During Passover, my heart is with those whose loved ones are still being held hostage by Hamas. We will continue to work to secure the release of all hostages.

Today, I sat down with students in Nagasaki who are already leading on the issue of non-proliferation. Their advocacy and determination give me so much hope.
A somber, moving visit to the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum.
I am grateful to the people of Nagasaki for preserving the tragedies of the past, so that we can create a more peaceful world – together.
Today, in Nagasaki, I spoke about the need to reckon with the past – and hold out hope for a brighter future.
This city bears scars that may never heal. But we can, and must, work to ensure that Nagasaki is the last place ever to experience the horrors of nuclear weapons.
At the Peace Park in Nagasaki, I paid my respects to the victims of the atomic bombing on August 9, 1945.
Today, I am reminded of our responsibility – as governments, as allies, and as human beings – to end the scourge of war, once and for all.
