I welcome the President's announcement. This temporary pier will enable a massive increase in the amount of humanitarian assistance, and we welcome Israel's support for getting more aid into Gaza and ensuring that humanitarian workers aren't caught in the crossfire.
Tonight, I’m directing the U.S. military to establish a temporary pier on the Gaza coast that can receive shipments of food, water, medicine, and shelter.
To Israel, I say humanitarian assistance cannot be secondary.
