CPT Jess Wooldridge Gate (Gate 1) will be closed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today due to the Liberty County Martin Luther King Jr. parade. The CPT Maurice Britt Gate (Gate 3) will be opened from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as an alternative.

Fort Stewart Forestry Branch is performing a helicopter burn in training area D14.2 today. The area is 12 mi NW of Bldg. 1 & 3 mi W of Taylors Creek fire tower. Flames & smoke WILL be visible from GA HWY 144W. Caution signs will be placed on HWY 144. Predicted winds NW 3-6 MPH.

As of 11 a.m., Hurricane Milton is 190 miles SW of Tampa, moving east towards Florida. Forecasted effects for our area include an inch or less of rainfall starting tonight through tomorrow w/ sustained winds at 23 mph and gusts up to 30 mph from 10-4 p.m. tomorrow.
