Inspiring Change is our theme for Black History Month, and we're focusing on the 4 Black college freshmen-Ezell Blair, Jr., Franklin McCain, Joseph McNeil, and David Richmond who made change by starting sit-ins at the Whites Only Lunch Counter at Woolworth back in February 1960.

It's National Pie Day, so enjoy your favorite pie on Lakes Sonoma and Mendocino while fishing, boating, or dodging the pies that have floated down stream. You think it's an illusion, but you never know what's in the water after these storms, so be safe and wear your life jackets.

Grab your life jacket and wear it at work tomorrow to be a beacon for water safety during this worldwide initiative. You will help show others that if it's easy enough to wear a life jacket while working, then it should be even easier to wear one when on, in, or near the water.

May is Water Safety Month. We want to remind you to plan and prepare before getting on or near the water. Before going out on the water give your float plan to a responsible person and learn more by taking a boater safety course. And please wear a properly-fitted life jacket.
