Work continues on the Navigation and Ecosystem Sustainability Program Lock & Dam 22 Fish Passage. This first of it's kind project on the Upper Mississippi River will increase access to upstream habitats and improve the size and distribution of native migratory fish populations.

Today's #FlashbackFriday takes us to Lock & Dam 17 in New Boston, Illinois. This photo was taken in 1938 and lock operations started one year later on May 14, 1939. For 86 years, the staff at Lock & Dam 17 have helped keep navigation moving on the Mississippi River! #USACE250

As hunting season approaches, it's a great time to hone in your archery skills! The archery range at Saylorville Lake is a great place to do that! If you're heading to the range, follow all posted safety procedures! Violation may result in the archer being asked to leave.

Fall is here and that means the inland waterways are about to become much busier! The Rock Island District is home to 18 locks on the the Mississippi River and Illinois Waterway covering 582 miles of navigable channels.

For those coming to visit our amazing Mississippi River Visitor Center - beginning Oct. 1, you no longer need a visitor pass to access the Rock Island Arsenal as your Real ID will provide access to the installation! Mississippi River Visitor Center hours: Tues-Fri 9am-4pm
