E.E. Just members had a blast yesterday collaborating with @Penn_SACNAS, @duboiscircle, @IDEAL_Research, @WePACReads, and MicroIDEAS through the Micro department to host Library cafes at local elementary schools in Philadelphia, in honor of National STEM Day!

E.E. Just kicked off the "Beyond Academia" seminar series this past Tuesday by hosting Dr. Cherié Butts, the current Medical Director at @biogen! Students got the chance to hear her talk on interferons and learn about the current work of clinical trials going on at Biogen!

Finally, we kicked off the first session of our FirstHand volunteering for the semester, helping local middle school students build their scientific background in the microbiome! We loved all their amazing questions and we can't wait to help build their projects!

We'd like to thank the community for supporting our collaboration with the Penn chapter of SACNAS to host the HHMI Gilliam Fellows Panel, where interested students heard from previous HHMI Gilliam Fellowship awardees, including our president Kyndall, about the app. process!

Oct. 26th marked our "Spooky Ooky Movie Night", where we hosted a member watch party of the hit comedy horror film, "The Blackening". We provided some bloody good drinks and snacks, as well as supplies for plant pot painting!
