Don’t go into the light! . Even at night, trains are still moving, so remember to stay at least 25 ft away from the railroad tracks. A diesel locomotive in Council Bluffs, Iowa, circa 1940s.

Do you know where the name “Dog Days of Summer” came from? Named for the hottest days of the year, it was believed that they brought nature’s fury, bad luck, lethargy and even “mad dogs.” Man’s Best Friend can’t escape heat exhaustion, so be careful out there in the summer heat!
