Hungary also stands out in the areas of welfare and family, after Denmark and Switzerland. It is also prominent in Spain and the United Kingdom, but secondary in Germany.

Among 🇪🇺European election manifestos, Hungary stands out for having the highest percentage of gender-related quasi-sentences devoted to labour issues, followed by the United Kingdom, Denmark and Germany.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family and welfare dominate national manifestos compared to European ones. This is particularly relevant in Denmark, Switzerland and Hungary.

Which issues matter most in manifestos? 🗳️ Political participation and representation matter more in European election programmes than in national ones. 💼 Gender-related labour issues are more prevalent in European programmes than in national ones.

These differences reflect ideological disparities and distinct political strategies among #RWPPs, highlighting how these actors position themselves in the social discourse on gender and politics, strategically adapting to their national contexts.

⚠️ In general, #RWPPs do not place more importance on gender issues than other parties. However, they differ in tone: They tend to have more content with negative gender connotations, as in 🇩🇪 🇭🇺 🇨🇭 🇪🇸

The British 🇬🇧 and Spanish 🇪🇸 national election programmes show low percentages of gender-related content with negative connotations. The Danes 🇩🇰 have the highest percentage of quasi-phrases characterised by an undefined connotation.

The European election programmes in Denmark, 🇩🇰 and the UK 🇬🇧 have a higher proportion of content with negative connotations. Among national election programmes, those in Switzerland 🇨🇭 show the most negative connotations in this regard.

There is considerable variation in the extent to which gender issues are addressed in the various European programmes🇪🇺 of the #UNTWIST Consortium countries. 🇪🇸Spain stands out for dedicating the highest percentage of content to gender-related issues in these programmes.

What was the procedure for Deliverable 4.2❓ The electoral programmes of #RWPPs in six European 🇪🇺 countries were analysed in comparison with other party families (2003-2021), investigating how they address GBNs using a new methodology: Manifesto Gender Analysis (MGA)
