There is no greater advocate for osteopathy & osteopathic medicine than TCOM’s Dr. Kendi Hensel. She is leading the effort to organize a task force with the @WHO to develop the first Technical Report for Training & Practice in Osteopathy worldwide. 👉 https://t.co/Fx47WqGAjG

Trust, compassion and empathy are all qualities patients want in a physician, and a new grant to @UNTHealth_TCOM from AACOM will help faculty integrate those principles into coursework for first-year medical students. https://t.co/mdecJZfu1O

We put a new twist on residency prep with our “specialty speed dating” for #TCOM second-year students. We had over 25 TCOM alumni from over 20 different specialties come talk with our students about a plethora of specialties. Our alumni and future alumni are the best, great work!

TCOM second-year students got a taste of just about everything in our Simulation Lab. They drew blood, intubated, sutured, and then worked as a team during a code to revive a patient. A lot of hard work under pressure, but everyone got better today!

Call it a gut feeling—Shraddha Bhonsle, OMS II at @UNTHealth_TCOM, spent eight weeks at @harvardmed’s Joslin Diabetes Center through the @NIDDKgov Medical Student Research Program in Diabetes, conducting groundbreaking metabolic research.

Shraddha wanted to spend the summer exploring, and she did just that. She is the first TCOM student to participate in the program

TCOM students had the opportunity to attend the @aoaodocs Fall Conference. We were proud to see second-year students Michael Critelli and Taylor Davis presenting their research to so many. Great work!

Some great news for TCOM graduate Dr. Hannah Finley, as she matched into the prestigious FM-OB fellowship at @uthsc in Nashville. Dr. Finley is currently the chief resident at @bswhealth_Templ Family Medicine Residency & will begin the fellowship next year. Way to go Dr. Finley!

Two weeks in Ghana, 10 days in Honduras, & an opportunity to save lives across the world. TCOM grad & surgeon Dr. Keenan Gibson was creating 3D tourniquets in Ghana & will be making arteriovenous fistulas for dialysis patients in Honduras. We are so proud! https://t.co/BPyXmHlvj2

Going to a hospital can be a little spooky for kids, but #TCOM students did their best to ease the tension for the little ones at @CookChildrens . Our Kids’ Clinic to help put their minds at ease and have fun at the same time. Future providers with our future generation.👏

A well-earned breather for TCOM students, as our Wilderness Medicine group had a fall camping trip to Lake Whitney… and encountered a few new slippery friends along the way. 🐍 #TCOM

Trust, compassion, & empathy are all qualities we want in a physician. A new grant from @AACOMmunities is giving TCOM's Mandy Mendez the training to bring that to the classroom. Mendez will be trained in the TBRI model to help future providers & patients. https://t.co/gB4Ag9Xs1P

Over 4K for a seventh straight year for TCOM! Another history-making application cycle for TCOM, as we had over 4,000 applications for the seventh straight year. For the Class of 2030, we received over 4,750 applications, which is the second-highest number we have received.👏

TCOM students had a chance to love on the little ones at Daggett Elementary School. Our Pediatric Club had a health event at the elementary school with help from our faculty members, Dr. Sarah Matches and NP Mandy Mendez. Community relationships are the best. Terrific work!

Another #TCOM great is headed back to the Lone Star State! Dr. Kendrick Lim, a ’23 grad, will be joining @UTHealthHouston as an ER attending physician and faculty member once he finishes residency. He rotated there as a student and is returning as a doctor. Congratulations!

A couple of very timely stories done by TCOM's Dr. Kim Fulda, as October is Substance Abuse Prevention month. She debunks many myths about those with IDD and substance abuse and talks about risk factors. Learn more! 👉 https://t.co/PtZWUzOtMg 👉 https://t.co/ddYjff3wvk

It’s been a three-month grind for our first-year students, but the Cardio Club teamed up with SOIMA & the @unthealth Sports Club to host a Field Day. After wrapping up their Nervous System 1, they enjoyed Chick-fil-A & friendly games of volleyball, football, soccer, & spikeball!
