Universal Rockets constructs and flies some of the most advanced water rockets capable of propulsive landings, high altitudes, 2 stage flights and many more!
Targeting May 11th for Impulse flight 2!
You can fly your name on the rocket!
Leave a comment to get your name on the rocket (please do not add your name if you have already replied to a past post)
TOUCHDOWN!
Touchdown of Phoenix H1 for the second time!
Phoenix has successfully landed (early landing burn was planned but phoenix’s absorption systems worked great and the rocket landed)
TOUCHDOWN!
Phoenix H1 successfully has landed for the 5th time! Slightly hard landing however the rocket made it down with no damage, also marking the fastest landing speed of any flight!
Liftoff of Flight 12
Sadly a pad issue resulted in a full loss of the rocket with the aft pressure chamber rupturing.
Next lander should be ready in a few weeks!
SUCCESS!!!
After 1 failed flight, Lightning has completed a successful test flight on the second try!
Successful recovery of the booster and successful separation!
In a few weeks Impulse will fly again!
I will be accepting names to be put on the second stage!

(1/2)
Lightning finally flew tonight.
While the vehicle performed great through most of the flight, an anomaly on stage 2 resulted in a failed stage separation.
Both stages aborted the remaining parts of the flight and were recovered with minor damage.
Thank you so much to everyone who has followed me over the last few weeks! Thrilled to hit 300 followers!
Also if that wasn’t good enough news,
Phoenix H1 Flight 9 is targeted for January 3rd at 3:30pm ET!
During a ground test, Phoenix experience an explosion.
Working on replacing the whole segment of the rocket in order to get back on track for a flight tomorrow
Reminder!
You can fly your name on Impulse flight 2!

I have refined procedures and I have determined a Lightning launch attempt can be performed tonight!
Now Targeting Today, January 23rd at 4:45pm ET for the first test fight of Lightning!
And liftoff of Phoenix flight 14!
Rocket performed exactly as expected with an unsuccessful landing. This was expected as each lander performs slightly different. This lander will not work on narrowing down the landings until it succeeds, just like L-02
Liftoff of flight 15!
Setup and testing went great and Phoenix left the pad with no issues.
Successful landing burn start however Phoenix did not successfully land, getting closer though!
Flight 16 in an hour!
While delays suck, they are better then booms
I have decided to call off the Lightning test flight for today and have instead decided to attempt again on Thursday at the same time.
Abort!
Phoenix H1 Flight 12 was aborted today due to cold weather. The pad and rocket were both frozen resulting in issues.
Will try again within the next few days, Scrubs are better then RUDs.
1 year ago today, Eagle D completed the first ever landing of a water rocket. Eagle also became only the second model rocket to land and it paved the way for more landing tests.
Since last year, Eagle and Phoenix have completed a total of 6 successful propulsive landings!
And touchdown of Phoenix for the 5th time!
Marking my 6th successful landing overall and the third this year!
As well as the first successful landing on Phoenix block 2!
In just under 2 months Impulse is set to launch for its second time!
This time with:
A more powerful booster
Improved staging system
Improved staging logic and timing
Improved recovery systems
Higher launch pressure
Work is already underway on the rocket!
On Saturday, Phoenix launched again,
Sadly an issue with the rocket resulted in a failed landing. I have decided to completely stop Phoenix for a bit as I work on making the rocket more reliable ahead of the first Flight of Phoenix version 2!
Phoenix static fire: Success!
Phoenix was tested for the first time! Perfect test on the first try! Preparing for a WDR ahead of the rocket’s first launch and landing flight test today! (Sunday).
Note: the red straps are not part of the rocket, only part of the test stand.
CONGRATS ULA!!!! MISSION SUCCESS!!!
Vulcan has launched successfully on its first flight sending a spacecraft to the moon and another into deep space!
Congrats to the whole team!

Today’s STR flight will be carried out by Booster 9. Flight 196 will be the booster’s 8th flight and its return to operational following a recovery failure in December.
Welcome to launch day!
We are currently targeting a liftoff at 4pm ET to allow for last testing and preparations.
Window : 1pm - 5pm ET
What to expect: Liftoff of Lightning from the pad. Small roll to align S2. Stage separation. Recovery of both stages!
Godspeed Lightning!
Liftoff of Flight 2!
Unfortunately the rocket did not land. Chamber ruptured right on Impact. Rocket shattered into pieces and was destroyed.
The second lander is being worked on and prepared for flight in a few days!
