EOS undergrads in Structural Geology (GLY 441) recently used a sandbox to create a fold-and-thrust belt, similar to the Himalaya and Appalachians. Strata are composed of coffee grounds and different colored sand. Structural Geology is taught by EOS Professor Peter Haproff.
