we’re sharing the tiniest bicycle in the Royal Collection – just 15cm long! It was made by Rudge-Whitworth for Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House in 1924 and includes working brakes.
This week we will mark 80 years since D-Day, which saw the launch of Operation Overlord and the beginning of the fight to liberate north-west Europe from German occupation.
Mme Arlette Gondrée was just 4 yrs old when her parents cafe became the first building liberated on D-Day⬇️
Arlette Gondrée was just four years old when British troops entered her family's cafe in Normandy in June 1944.
Her father served them from an alcohol collection he'd kept hidden from the Germans, starting a champagne tradition for British veterans that continues today.
