Bohrium is highly radioactive and cannot be displayed in our Interactive Periodic Table. Instead, come down and check out these postal stamps from 1967 which display Niels Bohr and his Bohr Model.

But the kind folks at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, who were involved in making element 116 and for which the element was named, sent us a nice mug and pin to be displayed instead! As good as it gets! Thank you LLNL! @Livermore_Lab.

Samples of Livermorium - like most other artificial elements - cannot be displayed: Perhaps only few atoms were ever made, and those that were made, are very short-lived and underwent rapid radioactive decay.

(Anything you like to contribute, please reach out to Christian Brueckner). All of this will happen in early October when the touch display systems and large screens that go with the periodic table will be installed. In the meantime, come and enjoy! (2).

The periodic table cabinet is up and filled. What is next? Errors need to be corrected (anyone finding one?), some items rearranged so not to be blocked by the engravings on the cover slide, some late additions will be added. (1)

Diamonds are the most common stone found in engagement/wedding rings. However, there is another precious stone that looks just as beautiful and is 20 times rarer than the diamond, the Green Emerald. Check it out soon in the incoming Periodic Table. #uconnchem

Our periodic table display will also feature items from the labs and lives of our faculty. Like these decades-old lead fishing sinkers out of Prof. Jim Rusling’s tackle box. (1)
