Chance for a few severe storms between Tucson and Phoenix later this afternoon and evening due to sufficient MLCAPE and modest shear. Main threat will be severe grade wind gusts. My biggest concern is the I10 corridor in Pinal County where a haboob is possible! #azwx

Models look really bad for the first week of August folks. Only the fantasy land forecast hours look promising but it’s been like that all season which is typical. The westerlies remain way too active for the #Monsoon High to set up in a conducive region. #azwx

This pattern would be something I’d expect on June 23rd rather than July 23rd. Synoptic scale pattern this season has been bizarre to say the least thus far. These weak mid/upper level troughs just keep spawning off the CA coast 😭 #azwx
