I've usually been on the side that these national rankings discredit the Rockies a bit but the inability to maintain true high end prospects has forced them to slip and I do agree a low 20s rank is probably accurate, even w/ Ethan. Tons of talent but just as much inconsistency.

Would seriously hope he goes in as a Rockie. He had arguably his best season in 2022 with St Louis but:. • won 8 of his 10 Gold Gloves in Colorado.• won his only playoff game with Colorado.• accumulated ~twice as much WAR and overall statistics with Colorado.

Good nuggets here. Cristian Arguelles currently holds the single season DSL record for AVG/OBP. According to Fangraphs' leaderboards, he also has the highest MiLB AVG/OBP since at least 2006. He's a good hitter to say the least.

Which is worse, giving up 15 a game at Coors or scoring just 2?.

I'd much rather you just find takers for Bird (4th in Stuff+ among pitchers with 50+ IP) and Herget and hope Vodnik and Halvorsen pitch better next year. Both have been plagued by inconsistency this year and their respective value could skyrocket next year.

If you get proper value which would be a lot for Halvorsen and his 110 Stuff+ w/ 5 years of control (a bit less for Vodnik), pull the trigger. I would not love trading both but they do offer a unique opportunity to load up the farm system.

HM:. Aiva Arquette - I think the hit tool shades too close to fringe average here but the power and relative athleticism for his size is impressive. Seth Hernandez - I just don't think the Rockies are gauging a prep pitcher but he's probably the best since Green/Gore.

3) Jamie Arnold - Mid-90s low launch lefty could be the key to Coors Field. 2 great secondaries too. 4) Liam Doyle - Potential for 5 above average offerings, including a 70 grade fastball and possible plus splitter & cutter.

My Rockies specific big board for Sunday (excluding Anderson):. 1) Ethan Holliday - take a gamble on the power and approach even if there's some swing and miss. 2) Eli Willits - If Holliday goes to Washington, get a similar upside. Potential 60 hit tool here in an athletic SS.

This is probably the equivalent of 3.9-4 up the first base line which is elite. Cunningham has gotten lost in the shuffle of prep infielders this year because he lacks power projection but I love the possibility of a 60 hit, 70 speed player with respectable 40/45 power.

Looking like we're seeing Condon get on his first pro heater. He's gotten on 15 times in his last 6 games with a pair of homers and 5 walks. Clearly not the same guy we saw in his injured pro debut.

Bud Black is/was a great skipper and I wish he had been able to leave in a more dignified way, especially now going out as a scapegoat. He was certainly not part of the solution and likely a big part of the team not being modernly prepared, but that problem isn't fixed here.
