My thoughts on joint return filing. - Govt has no benefit from it - IT portal will take years to support this - IT dept is so lethargic that they are yet to process last year's returns. It's all dreams.

Real issue is black transactions and tax evasion. @nsitharaman is far from reality.
There are 2 contradicting opinions coming from the govt. Rishi bagree, advisor to the finance minister is saying tax is so less that only 1 Crore(0.7%) people will pay income tax. Sanjeev sanyal, advisor to the Prime Minister is saying people will not work due to high taxation.

@taxologyin Many people got laid off last year which resulted in high refunds as TDS is deducted based on yearly income. IT dept and Fin ministry see this as a suspicious activity 😐

@nsitharaman Ma'am with due respect. Take over petroleum ministry from transport minister of India and reduce ethanol like GST 2.0. We all know such mistakes happen.
