Man samus being able to b-reverse charge shoot has got to be the worst change from smash 4 to ultimate. It's not that it's broken or anything, it's just that samus players think they're cool now
Every Peach main has a pocket Bayo
Every spacie main plays 2 out of 3 spacies (Fox, Falco, Wolf)
Everyone who mained Diddy in Smash 4 has an Inkling
Every Sonic main has some sort of Sonic reference in their name
Every Palu main pretty much never plays her in friendlies
Nah man Ness mains are the dirtiest players in this scene. They all been telling us for YEARS that SDI on side b makes no difference and we just believed it. All this time they were getting free combos off of a useless move.
I'll never trust a word from Ness mains again.
@Marah_Lenoir
@Imprez_
however the knockback increase isnt *that* high and it does depend on weight and % though a lot of characters can still drift out of aerial PK fire at low %s but regardless
SDI still lets you escape faster for both (notice the input viewer)
After 5 years since Ultimate's release, there'll be an OFFICIAL Nintendo event for Smash Ultimate.
It uses our competitive ruleset, features our 8 best players from Germany and it'll happen at gamescom, the biggest gaming convention in the world.
Insane timeline that we live in
Das Super

gamescom 2023 Invitational steigt nächsten Samstag auf der
@gamescom
in Köln!
Acht lokale Top-Spieler begegnen sich auf der Nintendo-Stage, um in einem packenden 1-gegen-1 Turnier anzutreten.
Setzt einen Livestream-Reminder:
It's crazy that ZeRo used to be the face of Smash back in 2015. Everyone respected him as the best player and how his winnings went to his family etc
Now he's just a drama ytber that nobody likes. There's gotta be a study on ppl who get "famous" early on and how it corrupts them
Some of the reactions to this tweet are depressing. It's literally just a breakdown of what's happening onscreen, only 2 or 3 statements are assumptions about Leo's intentions.
If you think this is 'overanalyzing', you're literally playing with your brain turned off.
Played against
@Mkleosb
for the first time today in GF at my weekly. Lost 0-3 and it was definitely an experience LOL he plays super fast and aggressive it's honestly so inspirational.
Also shoutouts to
@myR_quiK
for giving me the opportunity to play him by dq'ing in losers 😭
Lowkey the decision to announce Spargo joining Faze right before his top 8 set was insane.
Imagine the pressure on Spargo for this tourney. He HAD to get top 8 in order for this announcement to work and he HAD to win the set against Zomba, otherwise it would've been awkward ...
Gluto's pop off hit different ngl. Especially in EU we never see him pop off at all and at bigger tournaments I feel like it's been ages since he's performed past everyone's expectations.
Best player in the world
He took 82% for getting hit by a falling nair and missing a tech although I'm pretty sure that the charge shot also covered like 3 out of 4 options (or maybe even all options?).
That's the character they decided to buff last patch btw ☠️
This invitational event right now ft. Spargo, Leo, Gluto etc. is the weirdest event of all time:
- Bo3 and bracket is not seeded
- They take like 15mins breaks after every set while playing house tour intermission music
- It's only 1 day after Summit?
- There's $25K on the line.
Why is everyone so negative about Europe? Look at SISQUI he made it to the final day and he's not even on the top 50 EU PR which means 50 other EU players could do it too.
Simple logic, now let's cheer for Sisqui VAMOOOS
Wow I can't believe there are so many Mkleo disbelievers now. He's going to win Genesis FREE, dropping less than 3 games in total - mark my words.
Always believe in the goat. Team
@Mkleosb
forever 💪
I'm not saying this is a good idea but it's really funny to see how everyone immediately jumps on the argument that you'd have to be rich or it would be pay to win
... now imagine you live in a continent where this has been the case for the past 10 years already
Had an idea, wanted to hear people’s thoughts on it. 🤔
In order to be ranked OFFICIALLY Top 20 in Ultimate worldwide, you are required to attend one S or P tier in each of these 3 regions within that year:
NA
Japan
EU
Otherwise, you’re Rank
#21
or lower.
What do we think?
The main way to kill a matchmaking server is to have 1 or 2 people who no one wants to play against but at the same time they're also by far the most active which makes everyone get scared to openly ask for games
Gotta say, Kazuya has to be a TO's favorite character.
I swear Tarik just played a grand finals set that took like 7mins or something and he played against SAMUS.
This huge french group at Genesis right now is so hype. They already got some crazy wins at the pre-local:
Trim > Goblin
Ogey > Scend
NaetorU > Lui$
It's so cool to see how France has grown so much over these past years and now they're able to compete with the rest of the world
Man cheering for Glutonny is sooo easy, even when he's behind you just know he's gonna win anyway.
Ultimate kids here in Europe don't know what it was like in Smash 4 when we cheered for Ramin ...
TO ALL EU PLAYERS
I'd like to present to you "Anther's Revival Week". EU's biggest Smash streamers are going to stream & play on Anther's ladder next week in an attempt to revive it.
We believe a ladder is what EU needs right now in order to reach a new level. Read more 👇
Can't believe this is still being discussed 😭
Everyone who wants stage first literally just wants to have more gimmicky sets. It heavily favors polarizing character strategies, so you basically want the player with more tricks up their sleeves to win.
I don't think I like character first counterpicks compared to stage first counterpicks. I think they are equal in theory but most top players play 1 character and have been succeeding perfectly fine in stage first, and all character first does is hurt dual-mains/counterpickers
Competition isn't always as beautiful as everyone thinks it is.
For the right people, it can be one of the most fulfilling hobbies that will push you as a person but for the wrong people it'll feed your ego and basically destroy your mental health on the way.
I don't know why everyone was mad at this, I thought it was really good advice honestly! Which is why I decided to share my collection of special advice to you guys as well.
So here's a thread of top level advices that you can use (mainly for offline tournament play):
When at a deficit, playing lame and stalling ISN'T a bad strategy. People like to think I'm being an ass if I start stalling, but I do it because it helps wear down my opponent's mental stamina and lets me figure out my opponent's habits. I've made many comebacks doing this
I saw a lot of stuff on Twitter about the new Nintendo guidelines and honestly after reading through it all, it looks WORSE than I thought:
- Official orgs (e.g. VGBootcamp) aren't permitted to host events AT ALL without a license
- Events are absolutely non profit ... (1/3)
What's the most 'ignorant' fake combo/setup that people go for in ultimate?
First thing that comes to my mind is ZSS doing bthrow -> down b, always makes me mad when someone actually goes for that
Shulk has:
No jab
The worst counter ever
Probably worst frame data in the game
An Fsmash that doesn't work properly
No fast rising aerial
One oos option which is frame 10 and risky
Ugly victory screens
Bad hair on most of his alts
Can we stop pretending this is a Top 5 char?
Best of luck to everyone participating at Temple, hope you all have a great time! Sad that I couldn't make it but there's always a next time right haha
Man smash ultimate online is so unhealthy, it's making me think that:
- I'm not a top 50 EU player
- Shulk's not the right character for me
- Maybe smash 4 was actually better than ultimate ...
What's crazy to me about Leo's Blyeth is the fact that he's the only one. Like he's literally the only Byleth main I can think of, even among low to high lvl.
And then he goes on and wins every tourney with this char. Pretty sure this has never happened in Esports before right?
Top 2 best stories at this weekend's EU SWT qualifier:
1.) Neibaf trying to drag down Freetox with him after he got exposed for not having lan throughout the entire tourney
2.) That 1 guy who called for a lag test but it turned out that he was playing on a switch lite all along
I can finally announce my own offline tournament series in Germany:
Tru4's Spotlight!
It's a series of invitational events, each with a unique theme. And the first event is happening ... this weekend already?
Honestly one of the most craziest 2hrs I've ever witnessed in the Smash community
Legendary memes were born, viewership for smash streamers were insane, we all had fun and laughed together, huge organisations tweeted about it and lowkey the song banged
Thank you GimR 🤝
I'm gonna be realistic here. I think Raflow is the only other EU player who has a realistic shot at making it into Summit.
We'll 100% never get a player into Summit without the french community so might as well push the player, that the french community wants the most.
I'm running for Summit !
We can have a 2nd European representative, being that one would be an honor for me.
Votes open tomorrow and you'll be able to vote for me for free here :
Please RT or share with
#RAFLOW4SUMMIT
, it would help me a lot
Thanks !
And just to clarify I’m so definitely NOT a dickhead. In fact I’d consider myself one of the most humble and kind Top players. But not because I’m so nice most of the time, doesn’t mean I’m not gonna defend myself when people start picking on me or bothering me.
Pokemon fans have the lowest standards out of any fan base in the videogame industry
They give you a cheap 240p 10fps mobile game-esque that could run on a gameboy advance whilst being the most valuable franchise in the entire world and the fans are upset at people complaining?
For my first tournament this saturday I'll be using a tool by
@leeevye
and
@TheComet93
that shows competitive stats after each game!
It's an insane tool and I feel honored to be able to use it for my tournaments.

Soo let me get this straight: The Smash community consists of players from Europe, Japan, Australia/Oceania, Mexico, Canada, South America, South Korea, Taiwan, Middle east and hmm did I forget anyone?
EU after covid has been crazy
FRA became one of the largest scenes in the world. UK's new talents rapidly became top players. ESP has both, world class top player and huge content creators now. NL still has the best top player lineup in all of EU and GER has a retired scene
This has to be one of the worst days ever for the Smash community. Smash World Tour got cancelled and VBGC, the backbone of our community for the past decade, is at the risk of having to shut down entirely.
Why did we all choose this cursed game to play competitively ...
My biggest achievement so far is definitely the fact that I can confidently say this with my head held high:
I have never played Genshin Impact nor have I played a ranked game of League of Legends
I'm gonna start making a series of short Shulk-specific tutorials about little things that you can try to implement into your gameplay!
For my first tutorial, I'm gonna showcase why Shield Stops are a thing when using Speed Shulk and what difference it makes.
