3 of the blank XL journals/sketchbooks I've made. 2=I made for me, the 3rd one was for a friend of mine who is an intuitive medium & proud pagan. And, although all the covers may look like leather, only the last 1 with the phoenix on it is.

Pt14: I didn't sleep for more than 24 hours. all I did was sit floating between a state of being in shock & utter heartbreak & disbelief. When I tried to sleep, j/hours after she passed, the funeral home called to make arrangements, so I had to pause my grief to make decisions. .

Pt13: Even after the BiPap was off, she was unfortunately too weak to talk, so we never got to hear her voice again. 😔😥😢😭. Her movements were so strained & weak, & she looked so frail compared to the force of nature she had always been all my life. & then, she was gone. .

Pt12: She couldn't talk because of the BiPap machine, but she squeezed my hand in recognition that she could hear all of us as we talked to her & she could blink & nod her head slightly. .

Pt11: During my Mom's last day & hours, I spent time calling those people (friends & family) that I knew she would want to hear from & gave each of them that I could get a hold of the chance to say goodbye & tell her how much they loved her. .

Pt10: Brandy's Mom got a ride to the hospital from a friend to sit w/us in my Mom's final hours b/c her van's transmission had died in early May & her van was still in the shop. My Mom & I had known Brandy & her family for almost 30 yrs (since Brandy & I were in Jr High together).

Pt9: They said when we arrived that morning after choosing comfort care that she would be gone by the afternoon/early evening. But, my Mom was NEVER one to be told what to do. She passed away after drifting off to sleep a short while beforehand on Wednesday, June 5th at 12:50am😭.

Pt8: We chose 2give her comfort care b/c we knew from past conversations over the yrs that she wouldn't want the alternative.Comfort care involved the dr's giving her medication 2keep her from being in pain while they tapered her off of BiPap 2a nasal cannula of oxygen 2room air.

Pt7:Upon arriving, the dr's gave us 2 options:1) Try to intubate her (w/no guarantees of success) & she would live whatever time she had left in a medically-induced coma state unaware of any1& anything around her.Choice 2) give her "comfort care" & say goodbye. Both choices sucked.

Pt6: The call wasn't good. My Mom had suffered respiratory complications & was put on a BiPap machine & then her left lung collapsed. They told us to get to the hospital ASAP. It seemed like the longest drive of my life b/c Brandy & I couldn't seem to get there fast enough. .
