A break from my Arsenal fanaticism to mention a cute little dungeon about a dead god & desecrating a tomb for a game jam. I'd appreciate if any Shadowdark players took a look & gave it a whirl. https://t.co/Ff8hVxPUwg

Name a single player who loves scoring against his former team more than Kai.

We have the worst injury luck it seems.

Again, it's the separation. He needs that little bit of space. He just doesn't get it in the EPL.

The fact that defenses sit 5 yards deeper against Arsenal in the league than the next closest team tells you everything.
European sides tend to be far more adventurous against Arsenal, which naturally produces more entertaining matches. Arsenal aren’t the reason some of their league games are dull; it’s the timid approach of opponents that creates that.

Pio Esposito's hold up play and strength to shoot is what VG should be doing week in and out. The fact that he doesn't is why I struggle to support him.

Notice how thierry is never trying to be wrapping his arms around the defender, hes not square on... hes mobile. He generates an angle where he can shield the ball if it comes. Gyökeres doesnt create that separation. Itd help him so much if he could control duels better.

That MCFC team should not have lost. The fact that Bodo scored & won before the red card says a lot.

I’m shocked, SHOCKED! How did VG perform worse with Saka not on the pitch? How did we play better after Saka came on and VG left? It’s almost like all those haters are clueless about this game & don’t know ball.

Former Barcelona player who doesn’t baby players and coaches like Xavi. Nah. That isn’t happening.

Who would have thought a manager less team at ManU would beat MCFC?

If the defender were looking at the ball and not manhandling VG and trying to push him away from the play, sure. But he's not. He doesn't even know where the ball is. His back is to it.
Josh Aaron 🗣️ “Gyökeres is still in an offside position and interfering with play by his proximity to the ball and the defender. He forces the defender to hesitate and adjust because there’s a live threat right behind the goalkeeper. By the laws of the game, interference isn’t

Yes. Pass the ball to the marked 9 who is trying to create space for the movement of someone approaching the middle since he is running away from it. This is tactical buffonery at its worse.
Watch this clip from 0:45 and see another situation where VG is through on goal with the only defender on him already at the wrong side, ball on Saka’s left foot and no one is pressing him with enough space to play a ground pass to VG to put him through on goal but he took two

He is creating the space for Viktor. Literally, all of VG's goals come while Saka is playing. Leeds, Atleti, Chelsea, etc. VG is the most tightly marked 9 in the EPL. Saka solves that a little. It gives him space. It gives him chances. Things he can't do on his own.

3rd in xA despite being out for a prolong period. On pace with some of his best goalscoring seasons. We're limiting his playing time as well so his numbers should decrease & they really haven't. Yeah he's regressed.
Won't have happened if Saka didn't have 4 league goals in mid January. I don't think he's intentionally starving Gyokeres, but he's been nowhere the required standard at all, he's declined this season

It's not just that, it's Saka's cutback that creates the separation that Gyokeres isn't making on his own. Forget the potential offside issues, there's 3 defenders who can cut out that pass. 2 if we remember Cucurella isn't good enough to do it.
#AFC | Everybody putting their 2 pence into the Saka ‘not passing’ situation. I could make a 90 minute compilation of Gyokeres poor box movement, lack of security on the ball when he receives it. Saka is one of the best creators itw… if he’s ‘not passing’ look at yourself.
