HCS loses tonight, Winston-Salem rained out and will play 2 tomorrow. Ignore BG, they won the first-half crown. The Dash can pass GVL with a sweep tomorrow but need help vs HCS, who also, I believe, hold the tie breaker with WS. 4 games to play.

Chad is an impressive guy. Soft-spoken, thoughtful. A great hire! And very generous with his time. We chatted after the Ballers’ Sunday night game, with the bus literally warming up outside because the team was playing the next day, on Labor Day, in Augusta. Much appreciated. A.

If you can believe Baseball Savant data, Duncan Davitt threw 5 different pitches in the first inning: a 4-seam fastball (91.8), a curveball (80-82), a sweeper (80), a cutter (86) and a sinker (92). That seems a little hard to believe. Suspect a few pitches were mis-identified,.
