In Tennant's first series, his Doctor had moments that resonated with audiences through pure drama. Meeting Sarah-Jane again, losing Rose, confronting the Devil, crashing a horse through a window to save Reinette etc. Jodie was brilliant, but nothing in S11 matched that drama.

I agree with the sentiment of this. #13 has an incredible *look* and Jodie was a brilliant ambassador for the show. But for the "brand" #13 couldn't become like #10 because there just wasn't enough drama/conflict on screen for Series 11. After that, it became self-fulfilling.
Jodie should have been the new David Tennant .She should have had her name on everything you could buy. Merch in every shop.She should have been the face of Doctor Who. But you guys didn't know what you had

Don't go into Big Finish's 'Planet Krynoid' Boxset thinking this is an 8th Doctor adventure, especially as his feature episode is the weakest of the set. But otherwise, this is a creepy, class conscious zombie apocalypse pilot. but with Krynoids. Watch the full review here⬇️

Belinda is absolutely emblematic of Season 2 as a whole. Starts off with so much promise, energy and great ideas. Then the last 3 episodes completely lose the plot and basically ruin the character/season.
There was a period of a few weeks in April and May when I genuinely thought that Belinda might just become my favourite companion of the modern era. In those first 5 or so episodes, Belinda was a strong, interesting presence bursting with a refreshing energy. In just 3 weeks,.

Hate to ask, but does anyone have the Contents of Disc 3 of the 'Doctor Who' Season 7 Collection boxset?. Because I've been so busy I've only just now gotten around the going through the discs and it turns out the disc was damaged out of the box & none of my players can read it.

I think the show could have survived either. If we were dealing with a funded BBC 10-15 years ago, they'd have been filming Season 3 long ago but big questions would be had about RTD's vision. But if his vision was sound, Disney/BBC would move mountains to continue it.

. I also believe that RTD has also made some really poor creative decisions that actively hamper the possibility of renewal and those same decisions have made Disney not want to continue distribution and have cornered the franchise. I think both are true. Worst of both worlds.
