Dryslwyn #Castle in the Tywi valley in the former Welsh kingdom of Deheubarth. It was beseiged by Edward I's forces in 1287 during a land dispute, and remained in English hands thereafter, the adjacent small town expanding during this period. #dronephotography

Finally made it to Castlerigg stone circle after many years of trying. Such a breathtaking location, reminiscent of an ancient Greek theatre. This one very much on the tourist trail. #archaeology #megalithic

Little Meg is a tumbledown collection of megaliths at the edge of a field not far from Long Meg, apparently the remains of a Bronze Age kerb cairn. Like other #megalithic monuments in the region it features some gorgeous #rockart. #Archaeology

The nadir aerial shot indicates ridge-and-furrow cultivation within the stone circle. One wonders how the plough team manoevered around the stones?.

Long Meg and her Daughters is one of those reknown stone circles you have to visit at some point if only for the fabulous name. It's a very impressive #megalithic monument, with an external 'heel stone' incorporating some wonderful rock art spirals. #Archaeology

Visited the Lake District for the first time this summer. Along with the boat trips and hiking there is lots of #archaeology to see. Some fantastic #megalithic sites, many off the beaten track, like this stone circle quietly nestled in the corner of a field outside Penrith.

Honoured to have provided the geophysics for this new archaeological project on Dartmoor. Do you have any memories of Piles Hill stone row? |

Aerial survey of the route of some exceptionally deep holloways near Bridport in Dorset. First time surveying a 'green' corridor but certainly a very interesting exercise. In collaboration with @scantoplan #drone #photogrammetry #Dorset
