Wait...I'm re-watching LAL v HOU, & during a timeout, Rondo was upset about a foul called against him on Harden earlier. In order to demonstrate his point, he walked up to Harden & hooked his arm to show the ref what Harden was doing. He used Harden in his example against Harden.
It’s still absolutely unreal that, in a series in which Dillon Brooks said he doesn’t respect anyone until they give him 40, the Lakers ended the Grizzlies’ season beating them by exactly 40. Never tempt the basketball gods
I'm seeing a lot of negativity about the Lakers tonight. The sky is falling, player x is trash, trade everyone. Yes, we wanted to see LAL win, but these are humans dealing w/ a terrible loss. Some things carry more weight than a game. Didn't we just get a tragic reminder of this?
Latest report from
@TheSteinLine
confirms that one of Joe Tsai’s presumed objectives in a Kyrie trade was to not send him to his preferred landing spot: the Lakers
It’s bizarre that the 1 seed Nuggets being up 3-0 over the 7 seed Lakers is being discussed as though it’s the same as the 2 seed Celtics being down 3-0 to the 8 seed Heat
Big day! Here's what Lakers fans should root for:
Lakers WIN over Rockets
Jazz lose to Nets
Wolves lose to Blazers
Mavs lose to Hawks
Thunder lose to Suns
Warriors lose to Nuggets
Here’s what Lakers fans should root for tonight:
Pelicans lose to Mavs
Thunder lose to Suns
Clippers lose to Raptors
And….Kobe, forgive me….
Blazers lose to Celtics
The “LeBron fans are worried about Curry getting another championship” thing makes no sense to me. Is anyone seriously arguing that Curry>LeBron? Even if they are tied for championships? Curry is GREAT but LeBron just may be the GOAT. There is no reason for this to be a thing
Jaren Jackson Jr is the DPOY for the regular season and deservedly so, but Lakers vs Grizzlies showed that Anthony Davis is on a completely different level when he's at his best.
So on the Anthony Davis situation, if what we’re hearing is true, Pelicans did not negotiate in good faith, possibly with the goal of putting Kuzma, Ball, Ingram etc in trade rumors that would sabotage LA's chemistry this season as revenge for AD’s trade request. This league, man
LeBron is 38 and Anthony Davis is 30. The rest of the roster:
Christie 20
Rui 25
Hayes 23
JHS 20
Lewis 21
Prince 29
Reaves 25
Reddish 24
Russell 27
Vando 24
Vincent 27
Wood 27
I'm seeing so many Lakers fans saying things like "it's over, I'm out, face it we're done", etc. I get it, the last few years have been painful. Hard to watch. And this year has had so many gut-punch losses. They add up and take their toll. So maybe it's a defense mechanism to…
The Lakers gave Rui Hachimura a 3 yr deal worth $51 million last summer. He didn't become a full-time starter until January 21st. The Lakers have gone 23-13 since, which is a 64% win percentage. Had they won at that rate the entire season they would be the 4 seed right now.
A free throw discrepancy alone is not proof of an improperly officiated game. Reg season rankings:
Fouls committed
Lakers 1
Warriors 28
Free throws shot:
Lakers 1
Warriors 30
Not having a big FT discrepancy between these 2 teams would be far more surprising than having one
So we completely dismiss Anthony Davis for DPOY consideration because Lakers finished as the 8 seed but don’t factor that in with Wemby when the Spurs finished 14th?
It’s wild that this is the conversation on a national talk show in 2023 the day after a player looks like they may have been knocked out of a playoff game due to a concussion.
What a turnaround from the Lakers. They started the season 2-10 and were the 13th seed at the trade deadline. Since the deadline, they are 17-8, which is the 2nd-best record in the NBA during that stretch. They will finish the season with a winning record. Pretty incredible.
The NBA's pool report says that right here, as LeBron is calling for timeout, Austin Reaves was using his left hand to pin the ball to his left leg, which counts as control and is why the timeout was given.
Windhorst on ESPN- "Kyrie and LeBron have had issues in the past but right now they would drop all of those issues because Kyrie would love to be a Laker and LeBron would love Kyrie to be a Laker"
What Lakers fans should root for tonight:
Clippers lose to Knicks
Jazz lose to Hornets
Mavs lose to Grizzlies
Pelicans lose to Thunder
Warriors lose to Bucks
Celtics lose to Hawks
Big day! Here's what Lakers fans should root for:
Lakers WIN over Rockets
Jazz lose to Nets
Wolves lose to Blazers
Mavs lose to Hawks
Thunder lose to Suns
Warriors lose to Nuggets
LeBron, AD, KD, Steph, Kawhi, Russ, PG, Harden are either eliminated or on the path to elimination
Jokic, Luka, SGA, Edwards look to be moving on
Changing of the guard is here
Decision day! Here's what Lakers fans should root for:
Lakers WIN over Jazz
Warriors lose to Blazers
Pelicans lose to Wolves
Clippers lose to Suns
Result would be Lakers in 6th seed.
Most likely (IMO): Lakers, Warriors, Clippers all win, resulting in LAL at 7 playing winner of…
Living and dying with every single game is a sign of the passion of Lakers' fans. Sometimes people can go overboard but it's far better than disinterest. If you don't want people to live and die with every game then you're in the wrong city.
Within this answer from Darvin Ham:
“I’m tired of people living and dying with every single game we play. It’s ludicrous. Actually. Like, come on, man. It's a marathon."
The Lakers' bench has scored a total of 17 points in 2 playoff games so far.
Related: Taurean Prince has scored 17 points off the bench for the Lakers through 2 playoff games.
What Lakers fans should be rooting for tonight:
Lakers win over Wolves
Blazers lose to Hawks
Jazz lose to Thunder (either way helps)
Pelicans lose to Warriors
Clippers lose to Kings
Celtics lose to Nets
LeBron wasn’t happy w/ Crowder on a previous play where both went to the ground & Crowder pulled LeBron’s shoulder, so he put a little extra into bully ball here. Crowder slaps the ball out of James’ hands late, but Davis slides between them. Smart, & LeBron shows appreciation
My opinion: do everything you can to win the next 3 if you’re Lakers. Then, if they are locked into a playoff spot heading into the final game, rest LeBron, AD, etc and let the chips fall where they may re 5/6. If there is a possibility of falling into play-in, everyone plays.
Some personal news: I've been a teacher for 13 yrs, including the 5 that I've been covering the
@Lakers
. It's been a grind, but one I'm so grateful for. I'm excited to announce that I've accepted a full-time role w/
@LakersNation
& will now focus 100% on LAL basketball. Let's go!
