Just because Barkley teamed up with other stars over 30 years ago that doesn’t mean that he can’t be against super teams now. Opinions can change. BUT I don’t think the death of the super team was the driving goal of the 2nd apron, even if ends up being an effect of it.

Can Thomas now has a season to prove he’s worth the money he wants before unrestricted free agency next summer. Has to show he can create and, ideally, defend. Wonder if this emboldens some of the other RFAs (Kuminga, Giddey, Grimes) to also go the Qualifying Offer route.
Thomas becomes the first restricted free agent to land on a deal among the final RFAs in NBA free agency (Josh Giddey of Chicago, Jonathan Kuminga of Golden State and Quentin Grimes of Philadelphia). Thomas averaged 24 points, 3.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 25 games last season.
