The UK's #HIV response is failing women. In 2023, new cases increased the most in heterosexual women, but they are less likely to be offered or to take a test. Too many are diagnosed with HIV late, when it is more likely to have affected their health.

Being heard is an important part of what makes us human. When we are not heard in healthcare, we become dehumanised. How can we ensure the voices of most powerless in medicine are listened to and valued? I explore this in my book ‘UNHEARD: The Medical Practice of Silencing’.
