This is what it was like in pubs, any night of the week in 1970’s Britain. https://t.co/T5Myw80YUl

In the dark, distant analogue days of late 70's Manchester, a beat combo called The Trend were attracting lots of attention around the local venues. And so it was that on Saturday 31st March 1979 BBC Radio Manchester parked their Outside Broadcast Van in front of the Gransmoor .

The Trend gig at the Gransmoor that night was broadcast live throughout the two hours of Saturday Rock presented by Peter Sharratt and John Woodruff. Luckily the whole broadcast was recorded back at Broadcasting House on Oxford Road and that tape has now seen the light of day

Thought I would give this a run out - Rockin’ all over the world album. Opening track Hard Time has the same verse melody as Baby you can drive my car by The Beatles, took me a couples of minutes to nail it , but hey - who cares.

Love the vinyl but these cd remasters are superb - Lou decided to remaster all the RCA and Arista recordings which are now available in a deluxe box set.

Released when illegal bootlegs were rife. These were gigs by famous artists recorded on sub standard recording equipment, pressed on cheap vinyl and released in plain brown covers. Live a Leeds was released by The Who as an imitation bootleg. One of the best live albums.

We used Sound City amps, I used to put my Rickenbacker stereo through them, separate speakers on each side of the drums.
Francis Rossi co-founder of Statusquo. The band originated in The Spectres with Alan Lancaster in 1962. After a number of line up changes the group became Status Quo in 1967. They have had over 60 chart hits in the UK....starting with 1967's "Pictures of Matchstick Men"
