But lazy journalism & lazy discussion let him in the door. Real reporting can't be like sports reporting. particularly NBA reporting. where provoking a reaction is important. Loss of ethics created this and we're all stuck in it now.

Make no mistake @elonmusk is not attempting to be altruistic here either. He is a billionaire far separate from the average member of society that would like nothing other than to curve society to his will.

It's all a pretty stupid show & @elonmusk had positioned himself directly in the center of the storm by owning & actively engaging in the most important immediate reaction media outlet of our time.

But what we finding this age of blue checkmark reporting is nothing is without agenda. nothing at all. Similar to sports "sources," accountability is so lost that the public is completely at the mercy of how these people "feel," rather than what they "know.".

I tend to stick to bashing sports in this. Largely because sports reporters can always shield themselves from scrutiny by either making fun of the "overzealous fan" or when backed far enough into a corner saying "sports aren't that serious.".

But that's such a small % of this all. What were mostly getting is immediate agenda based responses with the only context being "I believe this, so I'm reporting it from this angle." With the information being less important than the firestorm it provokes in the comment section.

Now to be fair, the ability to up to the second review & report information has been a brilliant note in our society at times. Especially during natural disasters or war time. People setting the story on the ground straight is important.

There's nothing more odd than US media right now. All of it. sports is just weird, but instant reaction media is really more awful than we are willing to accept.
