Had they been allowed to grow, these trees would have cooled summer heat, shaded families, supported biodiversity, and made the community more beautiful. Instead, someone chose destruction. They���ve done a disservice not just to the trees, but to their entire community.

Professionals work hard to ensure trees are planted correctly, and volunteers are taught so these trees have the best possible start. Each tree represents an investment of time, energy, and hope for a healthier future.

Growing saplings takes years. Thatās years of care and resources from nurseries dedicated to raising trees that have a real chance of surviving into adulthood. Choosing planting sites and securing land permissions takes planning and expertise.

If you havenāt heard the news, 120 young trees were ripped from the ground after @rfldn, a registered charity, hosted a planting event at Arthur Ford Park in London, Ontario. They were found discarded in a pile nearby during National Forest Week.
