Thanks to those of you who have read Jesse's Will and gave good ratings and/or written reviews on Amazon. If you have family or friends who read and like good fiction, I'd appreciate it if you'd pass on a recommendation. Thanks for your support!🤗🤗
When I was eight, I lived in a nasty apartment building in a poor area. It was so bad I once had to see a doctor to get a roach out of my ear. On my way out, I heard the doc and his nurse talking about disgusting people like me. One day I will be a doctor who cares for everyone.
From my birth, it was just Mom and me. My father bailed and her parents disowned her. So just us, always poor as dirt. She was emotionally fragile with a drug problem but she loved me and I loved her. I checked her breathing every morning and one morning she wasn't. 28 yrs old.
My bio father skipped the scene when he learned my bio mom was pregnant with me and he was never in my life for even a second. But that's okay because I was adopted by the best father ever. I love you so much, Dad. Happy Father's Day!
I'm on vacation staying in a beautiful house on the beach where I'll go to sleep tonight to the sound of ocean waves. Before I was adopted, I used to think a good week for my bio Mom and me was when the power company didn't disconnect us. I couldn't be happier for my life. 😊
Great news from home! After 18 months, Dylan and his therapist feel he's at the point of testing college waters. He's enrolled in his first class at the community college for the summer session starting in May. He's worked so long and hard, happy tears are rolling down my face😊
This is my first inauguration that I'm old enough to be paying much attention and I thought I'd feel differently. More excited. I'm really happy Biden won but with everything that's happened in DC, it doesn't feel much like the celebration it should be. I hope things go well.
My great Uncle Adam now has a Twitter account
@AdamRush73
, his first social media account ever. My book "Jesse's Will" was based partly on his life and he was a huge help teaching me about 1963. I couldn't have done the book without him. He'll follow back any follower of mine.🤗
My parents took in another emergency placement last night. CPS took the boy away from his home because of a domestic violence situation so he'll be staying with us until they can sort him out with a safe home. He's been in a sad situation and we hope it gets better for him.
@sehrgoodiii
My adopted dad is a doctor and he says you're just crazy if you don't think patients can hear what's said outside their treatment rooms. His staff knows they will be fired if they get caught trashing patients.
I did a three mile run this morning with the cross country coach and looks like I’ll be running cross country for the school. Now time for a shower and breakfast. Have a great day!🤗🤗
This afternoon, a friend and I entertained at the senior home. Lots of fun and one lady who I think is about 90 said if she was just a few years younger, she'd ask me out. We settled for sharing some ice cream while she told me what things were like when she was 14. A sweet lady.
Just found out Travis will get to leave the hospital tomorrow or Wed at the latest. I guess he's loopy on drugs cuz he asked Dad if he could still play football this week.
What kind of man pays a small fortune to adopt a bunch of kids no one else wants and have his peaceful life turned to daily chaos? A hero, that’s who! Happy Father’s Day! I love you forever, Dad!
@klhpersist
Thank you. When I first met my adopted older brother Dylan, he told me that bad experiences were just inspiration to achieve things people never thought you could do. I think that made more sense to me than anything else I'd heard.
I am happy to say that I got my first Pfizer vaccination today along with the rest of my family who are under 16. So now, all family members have had at least one shot. I'm so looking forward to being fully vaccinated and the freedom that brings. 😊
OMG. I’ve been up for an hour already because a pack of coyotes decided to harass our pasture horses, one of which got too excited and broke the fence. So we ran them off with our rifles but we can hear them in the woods nearby. My brothers are fixing the fence while I guard.
Thanks for the good wishes and positive thoughts. I got the part of Davey in Newsies so I’m pretty excited to join the theatre group. On my way to breakfast and then class. Have a safe, happy day with lots of smiles.😀😎🤗 Cya later!
By the way, I got an A+ on the poem I wrote yesterday. That's the good news. The bad news is he made me explain meter to the class. I never volunteer for public speaking.😳
Remember Merrick Garland, you freaking hypocrite? Why don't you do something constructive like pass a bill on gun reform before more kids like me get shot at school? And don't say it's cause DT won't sign it. Wipe the orange off your lips, do your job, and serve your country!
Some Democrats are also threatening to “pack” the Supreme Court if they don’t get the rulings they want. These attacks on judicial independence are not normal politics. My Republican colleagues and I will fight to preserve a fair and independent judiciary.
@Mariailona
It gets easier with time and my family helps. My mom now loves to hear me tell stories about my bio mom and me. She would listen for hours if I wanted to talk that long. She really helps a lot.
Here's an update from Mom on my brother Dylan. "Dylan's had a good week in cognitive therapy with a couple of promising breakthroughs that we hope will lead to more. He has a very long way to go, but at the moment, we are very encouraged. Thank you all for your kind thoughts."
It blew my little mind when I checked Twitter this morning and saw so many responses to my tweet about the roach in my ear and the doc's comment. I'm answering as fast as I can. Also, I will catch up on follow backs as quick as I can and as Twitter allows. Thank you guys!😊
I wrote a short poem a couple months ago called “Rainbows”and I was surprised today that my school chose it as one of their three entries in the schools association contest (six schools). It’s cool but makes me anxious too. 🥺 I’m tweeting in a moment.
We are getting ready to leave for a long weekend at the beach. First time we've gone anywhere in over a year. So excited! Hope you guys have a fun weekend too! 😊🤗 See ya!
Peter couldn't believe I told the story about the roach in my ear. He reminded me that when I first came here I wouldn't say much of anything and now I'm telling a bunch of people something that's always been embarrassing for me. I told him it's not hard cause you're my friends.
I finally have permission to say I’ll have a new roomie at school. On the wait list for months, my little bro Javier was accepted and offered a partial athletic scholarship. The rest of the tuition was a problem, but our grandpa insisted on paying it. I’m so happy for Javi!😀
Sorry I haven’t been around. The nurse added me to the flu crew today so I’ve been sleeping a lot. I came on for a minute to share another of Caleb’s photos. I think his black cat in a tree early this morning is an amazing shot. Take care (((Hugs)))
Hey guys, things are going okay here at school. Just a lot going on and moving fast. We're doing mostly orientation stuff for the new kids like me. So far I like the school and I've met some nice people. Thanks for your good wishes!
Maria (gf) and I entertained again at the senior home today and had an awesome time. Maria plays piano and we had their recreation room rocking with group sing alongs of their favorite songs. Some were dancing and one 86 yr old guy taught me some moves lol🕺 Such a fun time!😎👍

Dear Mom c2020DylanG
I never knew
a forever home
until you made me
a part of your own.
You took me in
with my good and bad
and helped me fit
like I never had.
And you healed my heart
with hope so true,
no one could love you
more than I do.

When I was a little boy living with my bio mom in New Orleans, my best friend, sitter, and closest thing to a dad was an old Creole named Luc. He’s in the hospital and I spoke to him a long time this a.m. He reads my Twitter so here again is a poem I wrote about us. Love you, Luc
When I was little, I wanted to be a super hero. My bio mom told me I already was because I had an amazing super power. She said with my smile and a kind word I could make someone's day better and maybe even keep them from making a bad decision. We all have have that power. 😀😎
I had a great time hiking with my brothers and friends in the mountains today. It was beautiful and a wonderful day. I'm the best kind of tired there is. 😊
Hope you guys are having a good weekend. School is going okay. I've made friends and gotten to meet my teachers. I've met boys from all over the country and some interesting international students too. There are some amazing people here and I will learn a lot. Please stay safe!🤗
In case I disappear, we are having severe storms in our area. Three tornado warnings east, south and north of us but none directly for us yet. So when we hear one for us, we will be down in our shelter.😀Also, I'm on satellite so we can lose our internet with heavy rain.
Six of us have tested positive for COVID, including me, and there’ll be more. I had it the first time in Dec of 20 and was very sick but this time, it’s mild cold so far. Vaccinations make a difference. The nurse says the virus is spreading quickly again so please be safe.🤗
Wow! Thanks for all the get well wishes! 🤗🤗 I’m out of the hospital and back in my dorm. I hope to be back in classes by Thursday but I can’t return to football for two weeks.
My brothers and I are working hard on a big platter of Mom’s choc chip cookies 🍪 and watching football. Dylan is sitting here with me and it reminded me of his poem “Cookies” from his book “Poems for 20K of My Closest Friends.” I’m tweeting it just a minute. 😀🤗❤️
Soon I’ll tweet a new poem written for my adv comp class. Assignment was tell a happy childhood memory. I wrote about a man I loved in Louisiana who kept me summers while my bio mom worked. The poem was chosen as our school’s entry in the monthly schools association contest. 😎
Every year at Thanksgiving, our church members provide meals for homeless and needy people in our church dining room. We also deliver meals to seniors and disabled folks. My brothers and I are volunteering tomorrow. If you never tried it, it's a super good feeling.😊
Happy Hump Day! 🐳 On my way in thunderstorms to the airport and heading back to school.Had a great time with family and counting down 91 days until spring break. Have a fun day!😀😎👍🤗
Happy Thankful Thursday! I’m very grateful that although I tested positive for COVID, I’m showing zero symptoms. Very different from how sick I was my first time in Dec 2020 before a vaccine was approved for my age. Have a fun, healthy day! 🤗🤗 (((Hugs)))
It's time for dinner and then I'm actually studying on a Friday night because I want to go horseback riding tomorrow without having to think about school stuff. Have a nice evening and thanks for everything. I luv my Twitter Tweeps.🤗
Some of you have asked for more of my poems so today you get one. Before she died, my bio mom and I lived in a bad part of town. At the time it seemed to me the whole world was dingy gray. Places like I live now were only fairy tales to me. And weird thing, but I was still happy.
I'm teaching my 9 yr old foster bro to swim but the pool has to wait until chores are done. He has a different idea and was paying more attention to my poems than I thought. He wrote me this:
"Here's an idea
If you want to be cool.
Instead of chores,
Let's swim in the pool."
@shooz0425
After my mom died, I had a social worker give me her opinion that my mom was not a good mom because we were poor and mom had a drug addiction. I told her very quickly to keep her mouth shut before I gave her some help. Mom loved me and I loved her no matter what.

My Friends Are...
Pizza with everything on it
Laughter lifting my darkness
Rainbows coloring my storms
Hugs drying my tears
And family walking beside me

Someone asked when I'll post new poems of my own and I probably won't. I've been busy working on my first novel that's taking up my writing time. It will be my senior school project for adv composition so I have 2 years to finish but I'll have it ready much sooner. I hope lol😊
Whoa baby, we beat 3 out of 3 teams competing in our cross country meet today and I improved on my time from last week. We had a great time. Hope you guys have had a fun Saturday!😊🤗
I was born in Louisiana and lived there ten years. I understand how vulnerable the state is to a Cat 4 hurricane and how devastating the results can be. I'm hoping for the best and praying for the people. 🙏🙏🙏
Our GQP legislature passed a law that public schools can't mandate wearing masks in SC. As with some other states, it's up to parents to decide. Some of the same parents who refuse vaccination. It's sad knowing that some innocent children will become very sick and some will die😢
Fall break 🦃 with my family sure was nice but I’ll be flying ✈️ back to school early this morning. Good news is there’s only three weeks until Christmas🧑🎄break. Have a super Sunday and safe travels! (((Hugs)))🤗🤗
Spartanburg Community College in SC just announced they are using money from the Cares Act to give free tuition for the 21-22 school year. They have some pretty excited students.😊
Good morning! 😀 After I eat and do a few chores, I'm going on a trail ride with my bros. 🐎 It will be a nice day here. Sunny and near 70 for a high. Hope you all have a fun day! Luv you and see you this pm. 🤗
Thanks for the good wishes for our trip and also the early birthday wishes for my bd Sunday. We got here early and safely this afternoon and I love the Charleston area. I feel like we've already done a lot. We're having dinner with my dad's family tonight. Cya later. 🤗🤗
@JerasIkehorn
I’d still be sad that our country will never be the same and I’d wait for the next loudmouth con trying to take his place and use his sheep for personal gain.
