Different cancers, different biology. Sentinel lymph node concept with a primary gatekeeper node is not an accepted concept in all cancers. Finally many underpowered trials….
@VickersBiostats Similarly in cervical cancer RCTs of sentinel LN bx safer and similarly effective as PLND.

Trials underway. More follow up needed to examine difference in MFS. Difference in BCR may not be the right endpoint. @DrSpratticus what is the true final position of the radiation literature on the topic?.
@VickersBiostats It is reasonable (although not everyone agrees extended PLND data is conclusive and practice patterns would support this), but not always valid. If C is better than B, then C must be better than A. Not necessarily true. Good example of when this breaks down:.In low risk PCa.
