He also found that around 1,000 postmasters were convicted in Horizon trials, higher than previously thought. Williams also found the flagship copmensation scheme has failed to deliver full and fair redress.

Sir Wyn also found that bosses knew or should have known that Horizon was faulty. This was 2000-10 when 99% of prosecutions took place - and is the first time Sir Wyn Williams has made this finding.

Close to 500 postmasters have died before seeing the end of the public inquiry. This includes five suicides and numerous stress-related illnesses. Even this is likely to be at the low end, given many deaths won't show up in the data. Full story (£) 👇.
