Lovely photo feature on Bilston Town in the new @WSC_magazine. The third best ground I have played at after Fellows Park and the Millennium Stadium.

Some sort of steampunk juggler on the pitch at half time in the Harrogate Crewe game. Scenes that shame all of football.

Delighted to see Chris Powell appointed to the backroom staff at Walsall but I stand by this 2020 @WSC_magazine review of his acting debut in Ted Lasso.

A privilege to be knocked off top spot as the most famous ex-Barr Beacon pupil by this man all those years ago. What a ride it’s been.

Sure, your club has a women’s team. But does it have a women’s team sponsored by a leading pork scratchings brand?

A week since this happened and still can’t quite believe it. Hopefully a lot of proud dad moments to come where I have to pretend that various births and marriages rank higher…

Lovely bit of lower league heritage at the Bescot today. Chesterfield fans chanting “you’re not fit to referee” at Zac Kennard-Kettle. Somewhere in the crowd, dad Trevor wipes away a proud tear.

Lots to enjoy about the Grimsby game tonight. But the director cutting to a pensioner in a black and white glam rock wig just as he screamed “FUCK OFF” at something or other just shaded it for me.

Iconic image. Beacon Bear. Stanley Matthews looking like a villain from The Sweeney. Whalley also suspiciously 70s despite it being two decades later. And is that Deadly Doug behind him? He looks delighted. Maybe he had shares in the construction company…
#OnThisDay in 1990... We opened the doors to our new home for the very first time with a friendly against @AVFCOfficial! 🏟️❤️

Thanks to the lovely people @northernclub for letting Alex have a net yesterday ahead of his @YorkshireTea U15 cup final tonight. We’ll be back!

Something worth celebrating. First cyclist from the Black Country to win a stage of the Tour de France. Not bad for a region notorious for its horrific roundabouts.
Ben Healy's win will be hailed a victory for Ireland but make no mistake, this also a triumph for Midlands cycling which will be deservedly celebrated by the Black Country clubs who helped him on his way. His is a career forged on local roads. #TDF2025

I’m on TV duty in the new @WSC_magazine. Featuring a goodbye to Gary, Paul Scholes - legacy fan, and Peter Schmeichel’s dad making a late bid for most colourful football parent backstory. In superior newsagents now.

Facebook’s new AI question function is great fun. “Can anyone join [notorious hooligan firm] Middlesbrough Frontline?” I’m guessing probably not, no. In the expanded answer it recommends you check their website. 👍
