Check out this wonderful discussion with @UMSLCOE alum, Pete Paciorek, "How sports can help students build leadership skills." Dr. Pete completed his Ed.D. with a focus on character education. We'll be launching a new character Ed.D. cohort in fall 2025.

School culture usually doesn't have a single author. What are you doing to make your school's culture better for students and staff?

Check out @TomHoerr's thoughts on #ArtificialIntelligence: "I’m dubious about the ability of AI to read and understand people’s emotions; I’m doubtful that AI will be able to feel and generate empathy." What do you think? https://t.co/MzAQTiBwov

How did the teacher feel about the lesson? What pleased her, what would he do differently? "What did you learn?" is the best question to ask in a post-observation conference.

Effective principals are good listeners. The key to a productive post-observation conference is the questions that are asked, not the strategies that are shared.

Principals can create a school culture in which everyone grows and cares for one another. Make time for collegiality and fun, and don't have a designated parking space for the principal. https://t.co/GYOHkqDx7F

Discomfort is an integral part of growth. We know that, yet it's hard to embrace leaving our comfort zones. We educators encourage our students to do this, and we should model it for them. We need to let them know when we are uneasy, when we try and fail, and how we learn.
