The only negative for me about Raducanu's astonishing win, is that it has eclipsed the other phenomenal achievements of other Brits at this #USOpen Joe Salisbury won both the Mens and Mixed doubles! Reid and Hewett completed the Wheelchair Men's doubles Grand Slam! All amazing!

Emma Raducanu has won the US Open. Things she hasn't done as a professional: - Won a WTA tour match - Played a tour level three set match(!!) - Played on clay - Directly entered a slam main draw - Played five tour level events One of the craziest breakout runs ever.

Emma Raducanu’s parents are Romanian and Chinese, she herself was born in Canada but she still proudly identifies as British- she’s just won the US Open. Remember this, being British can comprise a real mix. It’s why we must be an open and welcoming country.
