Shocking an unacceptable we have been #peatfree for 6 years with excellent results. The damage that extracting peat does the environment is massive. UK peat bogs lock in 3.2 billion tonnes of carbon. Extracting releases this.
UK Gov has just confirmed complete ban on horticultural #peat will not come into effect until 2030. A huge disappointment considering the destruction of our irreplacable peatland habitats should have been outlawed long ago. More info here π
