Because a lot of us have first seen this film as teenagers (us included), we seem to forget how weird it is that there's nudity of the title characters (of people who were also teenagers). There was definitely no reason for the studio to include that in the film.

I would probably argue that John Wayne's entrance in Stagecoach (1939) is the greatest of all cinema. Not only is it a great, memorable entrance, but it seems to be saying "A Star Is Born!" as it zooms in on his face.
