Wow source coding theorem is awesome. Why can you store a crystal structure in a small file vs a liquid which needs a very big data file? One has much higher physical entropy and this needs more data! That intertwining of physical
and information theoretic entropy is beautiful

For the former, I assume you mean a .cif file? What would you use for the liquid?

Not stupid at all! It was just a thought I had but I assume someone else has formulated it somewhere, just had a thought about a potential application but I might write it up properly.
