I quit my well paid job to spend the last year building my SAAS to exactly £0 MRR. Zilch. Zero. The definition of a complete failure. It was my first attempt at founding. Here is what I learnt 👇.

Anyone following the small bets approach - do you use any specific method to manage them?. About to try out Basecamp's shape up methodology to help my focus.

After a few very marketing focused weeks - at last it's time for a build week!. Daily build screenshots to follow!.

The purge for makers - that point in the year when you turn off auto renew on all the domains you own.

When do you think we'll reach the tipping point where nocode tools become a standard part of businesses tech stacks?. What will cause it?.

I need help!. Ever since I started building, I find that mid-discussion with someone, my brain suddenly lets me know it's figured out how to fix something. It's distracting and rude - but I seem to have no control!. Any ideas!?.

It took me months to have the confidence to ask in person for a financial commitment for a product I hadn't yet built. I thought a 'no' would end the conversation. It doesn't. It just starts a much better one!.

Accidentally discovered a mindset trick this week. If you want to test / sharpen your product positioning, think about the services you could provide alongside it. It helps you think bigger about your customer problem whilst sharpening exactly what part of it your product fixes.

Last week was a big reminder of how hard things get when you're out of practice. Finally finished writing up our report on common problems for our target community. Hadn't written a report like that for a few years. It kicked my ass! Had to avoid twitter to get it done!.

Ask 10 people what parts of their job annoy them the most and at least half could be materially improved by nocode. That's why I'm so bullish on the potential of nocode in business.

It's tough switching from the comfort of a job you know well to becoming a founder. I have the utmost respect for everyone that tries it.

I'm an advocate of subscribing to others products early on. I realised earlier this week I'd been falling short by using but not subscribing to @TinyKiwiApp. Sorry @HeyImYossi for not doing it sooner - I'm all signed up now!.

Even though I know it's just vanity, it still feels weird building a landing page without a domain or logo!.

I sometimes wish I'd discovered no code before leaving my job - there are hundreds of micro-problems I could have fixed with it.

Bubble tip. Stop thinking about it and just get @madewithframes. 3 weeks in and already I can't imagine starting a build without it.

Twitter is a free university, but 99.8% of people aren't following the right accounts. Unfortunately, sharing lists of accounts to follow seems to be doing nothing to increase that 0.2%.

"Shame only exists in the dark". Heard that quote over the weekend. It's why founders sharing failures is so important. Turn that feeling of shame into something you accept, own and use to benefit others.
