Our job is to depend on Him beyond ourselves and trust Him, including in the midst of the trials (Proverbs 3:5-6).

When we lose a job, or lose a loved one, when our life spirals out of control, as Christians we have hope in a future because it doesn’t depend upon us or life circumstances. God is in control even when we can’t make sense of loss, wrongs, or injustices in our lives.

One thing Christians have is hope. Our solid hope does not come from connections, or wealth which can change. Our hope is in Jesus who died for our sins and rose from the dead. Our hope is in a Savior who was once man & understands our struggles and temptations (Hebrews 4:14-15).

Knowing that God is Sovereign and accurately predicts the future we can learn this. God is in control of human history. He is in control of our society, our life journey, and the little things in our lives.

The final time of judgment in Daniel’s 70 weeks is the Tribulation, which will cause the nation of Israel to repent as a nation and Jesus will come to save His people at the 2nd Coming. He will judge the nations and the wicked, then will rule the earth during the Millennium.

During this time (see chart) one judgment is the “Times of the Gentiles” where four world empires rule over the people of Israel: the Babylonian empire, the Persian empire, the Greek empire, and the Roman empire, including the future Revived Roman empire.

As the prophetic clock, Daniel’s 70 weeks is a period of judgment for the people of Israel’s (Jewish people) disobedience against God. The judgment is a removal of Israel’s kingdom and king for a period of time.

In the prophetic clock, two key events are the 1st and 2nd Coming of Jesus. See the chart.

One thing the Bible predicts in the future is a one world government with a one world economy and a one world religion. It is an anti-God system, and yet God is in control and predicts its existence beforehand.

And while many things in our future are uncertain, He is sovereign over His children’s lives too.

God wrote about the prophetic clock, Daniel’s 70 weeks. It predicts the future still and was written over 2,500 years ago. God knows the future because He is in control of the future.

Our world is ever changing and we live with many uncertainties. But God knows the future and predicted it long before it would come to pass.

Theology is not about puffed-up knowledge. It is about regulating our decision making. This is addressed in the soon to be published book, “Justified Sinners.”

How well do we understand our Christian beliefs? How capable are we of explaining and defending them? How should an understanding of our faith play out in our daily living? If we genuinely believe the Word of God, it will govern our thought processes and behavior.
