We had an incredible grouse season this year at the cabin and now it's time to shift gears as pheasant opener is next weekend on the farm. Hopefully there are good birds this year there as well.

Back home in CO from the Alaska cabin. Time to shift to all my chores here before winter hits. It won't be long now before we have a solid white landscape.

My son and his friends have the first group rounded up from the mountains this morning and are funneling them down to the the loading pens too haul them out and off the range. Traffic may have to wait a bit.

The swans are starting to show up in numbers from northern Alaska here at the cabin for their winter migration.

My son snuck a couple extra days off from college to come home and help a friend with their families roundup. They have over 2500 head that have to be pushed down from the mountains and just a few days to do it.

It's full on fall here in Alaska, and all the leaves are pretty much gone with termination dust on the mountains, but I still have geraniums and some flowers blooming and healthy. That's new, go figure..lol

Opened a new area up today in no mans land Alaska. Super peaceful. Just the woods and me.

The pup and I went out this morning on a short hunt and found we found a couple more.

Well, the new woodshed is warming me twice. Once, when I cut and split, and the other when I burn it..lol🔥

Now that we are back to having night again in Alaska and not daylight all the time, we are finally getting some color again in the sky.
