In the wake of BG3, it becomes increasingly jarring to me how even most very clever, heart-filled, well-written games have "random thug" enemies that are coded as totally okay to kill, subhuman. In BG3, pretty much everyone you can kill has a name and a story, even a simple one.

I couldn't cover everything but I do think I was remiss not to praise one of the best things about BG3: You just buy it once and you get everything. There is no fishing for microtransactions, no mobile app to farm resources, and no live service bullshit. How it should be.
With crunchy, tactical RPG combat, a memorable story with complex characters, highly polished cinematic presentation, and a world that always rewards exploration and creativity, Baldur's Gate 3 is the new high-water mark for CRPGs.

"Random thug" enemy design is a relic. If your bad guys are people, as opposed to robots or space bugs or something, I don't think it's really responsible as designers to genericize them, to treat them as something you don't have to feel bad about murdering. We should stop that.

I don't think people TRULY realise just how big the Project Caesar map is going to be. I've seen a lot of comments about how the increased granularity is going to be a nightmare to move units around in and just... I don't think thats going to be the case. The map is HUGE!
